Spend an Evening with Mat Osman – author and bass player of acclaimed British rock band Suede – as he opens the pages on his intoxicating debut novel magic, music and murder; The Ruins.  Mat  will be talking in depth to Zoe Howe, acclaimed author, music and presenter, sharing thoughts, stories and how The Ruins took shape.

Osman will draw us into his turbulent 2010 where banks are on the edge of oblivion, a volcano is erupting in Iceland and marauding gunmen sport Donald Duck masks. Exploring the place where music and literature meet, Osman will talk about the toxicity of the chase for fame and the slow death of the music industry. It is going to be one not to miss.

Zoë Howe has written acclaimed biographies of artists including Poly Styrene, The Slits, the Jesus & Mary Chain, Wilko Johnson, Stevie Nicks and Lee Brilleaux. Zoë was also part of the team behind hit documentary Poly Styrene: I Am A Cliché. A visual artist and sometime musician, she has worked with Viv Albertine, Helen McCookeryBook, Steve Beresford and others. Zoë currently presents the Rock ’n’ Roll Witch show on Soho Radio.
