Home to Christopher Jones, Captain of The Mayflower, Samuel Pepys’ parliamentary constituency, a temporary home for 200 Kindertransport children in 1938, and the final berth of Radio Caroline’s The Boat That Rocked, Harwich has a compelling nautical tale to tell.

Help us celebrate this story by joining our author events and writing workshops in the 1912 Building, the Old Fire Station, including our very special Swallows and Amazons Essex focus led by The Arthur Ransome Society.

Head down to Ha’penny Pier for an experience not to be missed on board LV18: The Boat That Rocked, where we’ll serenade you with some distinctly fishy tales, live music, plus our very own Live Poetry Jukebox.

And join us for a very special programme of author events and family workshops in The Redoubt Fort, which has its own fascinating story to tell and is home to the town’s Kinderstransport exhibition.
