Most bookings can be made through the Mercury Theatre Box Office, or online at essexbookfestival.org.uk – However, some events have different box offices and booking lines, so please check the programme.

We are aware that audience members with Apple devices may have issues booking at the present time. This is due to a glitch in the spectrix system and is being worked on.
Please call Mercury Theatre directly in the interim and they will help you.
Essex Book Festival Tickets (most digital events)
This year we have a second ticket site for our digital events. This is through the Essex Book Festival but ticketing information will arrive to your inbox via Eventbrite platform. There is a booking fee for these events added onto the top of the ticket price, our apologies.
Audience numbers and waiting lists
This years capacity at the festival is smaller as we wish to maintain social distancing in line with the current guidance. This means tickets are in smaller supply at present, if you are unlucky we urge you to join our waiting lists and should we be able to release more tickets safely we will be in touch with you.
Concession prices are available to those who are on Jobseekers Allowance, Students and under 27’s. Please provide proof of age on ticket purchase and at events.
Essex Book Festival is a partnership programme with multiple partners. Please advise the Box Office if you have any access requirements when making a booking.
Visitors with a disability are offered a free ticket for a companion. If you require a BSL interpreter, please advise the Box Office and we will do our best to accommodate this.
We also have a Roger Pen hearing system, so please let us know if you would like to book this by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Festival cannot refund money or exchange tickets except if an event is cancelled. If this occurs, please return your tickets to the Box Office within 30 days for a full refund.
